The idea of the Logo as well as its name is based on the fundamental idea of 'CONNECTION'. The idea of a 'Management System' goes back to the primal characteristic of us, Homo Sapiens, to organize ourselves together in larger organisations through social 'connections'.
This connection is represented by the CEPT Door which has a strong sense of identity for everyone associated with CEPT University. While The University Management System is a management system associated with networks, cloud computing, and a formal and complex system to improve orchestration of different departments, services, students, faculties, it must not necessarily feel like that. So, The Logo aims to flip this association of the UMS to a more intimate, humanist and user-friendly platform where one feels the warmth of physicality and not social alienation through technology, hence selecting the humble, day to day physical element, a Door.
The birth of the CEPT door has an interesting story. BV Doshi wanted an institution without doors but when the need arose, doors were required. The robust Doors, were so incredibly designed that there presence is negligibly felt with a free rotation around the pivot with space on both sides of the pivot when opened.
Basically, The CEPT Door feels a natural part of the human habitat system at the CEPT Campus. The CEPT Door represents the University Management System functioning smoothly and very naturally becomes the silent backbone of functioning of the different departments, students, faculties and other University services.
